A big lady
Yao Defen, the tallest women in the world stands in front of her house in Shu Cha in the North-East of China (34 years old in 2006). She mesures 2m36.
19 years ago she was diagnosed with Acromegaly – a disease resulting from a tumour on the pituitary gland causing it to pump out excess growth hormone.
Thanks to a documentary being made for a British Television programme, two of the leading doctors specialising in Acromegaly have offered to help De-Fen for free.
The doctors and the television production team have been raising money for De-Fen’s recovery and future. Yao was finaly operated with success in Shanghai in 2007. the site to help Yao Defen.
The biggest of all
Zeng Jinlian (曾金莲; 26 june 1964 – 13 february 1982) is the tallest woman who ever existed. At the moment of her death at the age of 17, in the Hunan, she was 2,48 m tall.
